Continuing on from my previous posts about the importance of having antispyware/malware software along with your antivirus software (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3), I received an email which was an obvious spam email as per below screenshot:

So, I clicked on the URL and see if Avast, AVG, Malwarebytes or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Avast! didn’t detect it, even though Web Shield was enabled and the link redirects me to a spam website for meds.

Microsoft Security Essentials also didn’t detect the link as being spam and let me get redirected. I expected this because I don’t see a

 AVG Anti-Virus 2011 Free Edition however detected the site as being a spam site and blocked me from going to it:
